Patanjali Partners With PayTM, Amazon and Flipkart for Online Sales

With a huge turnover of Rs 10,500 crores in 2016–2017, Patanjali now aims a twofold growth figure.

From Yoga to business, Guru Ramdev has brought a major transformation in Indian business. His brand Patanjali hit the retail market in Ayurveda products long back and will be available in ecommerce sites from this year.

Patanjali, which is based at Haridwar, is now in business contracts with Amazon, Paytm Mall, Big Basket, Grofers and Flipkart along with some other online stores. As per the deal, these e-commerce sites will sell Patanjali products. Patanjali Ayurved also has its own ecommerce site, www.patanjaliayurved.net which made sales worth rupees 10 crores in December 2017.Ramdev said in one of his speeches that this approach will being Patanjali at the doorsteps of the users.

Patanjali at present has a production capacity of Rs50, 000 crores, which is at the highest amongst all the FMCG companies in the country; FMCG refers to the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector.

On the other hand Amazon India VP (category management), Manish Tiwary expressed his excitement on the prospects of Indian products in the recent future. He said Amazon is committed to provide a delightful shopping experience to Indian customers by offering unique products.

Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy also said that they are happy to be able to join hands with Patanjali Ayurved to provide premium quality products to customers at an economical price. Both the ecommerce giants believe that this partnership will benefit customers from all walks of life.

Besides FMCG, Patanjali Ayurved is also making considerable progress in the educational sector and in healthcare. In December, there was also an announcement from the company end about entering the solar equipment market.

Patanjali Ayurved targets a sales growth of Rs 1, 000 crores in 2018 from its retail and ecommerce initiative.
