WhatsApp Business App Launched In India, Facilitates SMEs

The popular chatting App WhatsApp has introduced WhatsApp Business in India. Small businesses can now connect with their customers easily. WhatsApp associated with MakeyMyTrip, NetFlix and BookMyShow and launched a pilot project. On Friday, WhatsApp Business first arrived for a few countries including Italy, Indonesia, UK, Mexico, and the US. The WhatsApp Business was first tested in Brazil and India then it was released to the public.

WhatsApp Business app can be downloaded on devices based on Android 4.0.3 and later versions from Google Play. For Apple iOS users, WhatsApp Business is planning release in the near future.

It is targeting small businesses, WhatsApp Business app calls for companies to connect with their customers. It enables businesses to make their profiles with additional info like business email id, website URL and business address. Businesses can include list of products they sell into their profile. Tools designed for Smart messaging helps businesses in quick replies to queries raised by customers. Businesses can send Greetings also using this App.

WhatsApp is also planning to reach out to selected businesses in a near future. WhatsApp business is eyeing small and Medium Sized businesses to enroll for their App. As per WhatsApp claims 80% business houses in Brazil and India are already using their product.

WhatsApp Business app helps businesses in setting profile picture privacy. App also enables blocking and reading receipts. The feature to track live location ensures easy sharing of live location. End-to-end encryption is also provided for all the calls and messages to restrict any unauthorized access.

Official sources claim that currently in India, WhatsApp has more than 200 million active users. WhatsApp wants to stay ahead in the competition with newly included features “Delete for Everyone” and “YouTube Integration”. On the Android Oreo devices WhatsApp also offers Notification Channel Support. Also, it is all set to bring about a feature for UPI payments shortly.
